Penthouses at One One One Morgan Add Luxury to Loft Living |

If you've ever wanted to experience "cloud nine," you may want to consider the penthouses on "floor nine" at One One One Morgan. Located at Morgan and Adams streets in the West Loop, the new-construction loft community, developed by Chicago-based Winthrop Properties, will include sixteen top-floor penthouses among its 166 residences. Priced from $325,000 to $699,000, the penthouses offer two to three bedrooms, two baths, and 1,079 to 2,376 square feet. Deeded parking is available for $25,000 per space. "Today, the West Loop is attracting more upscale buyers that are looking for larger, more luxurious and more personalized homes," said Bob Horner, a principal of Winthrop Properties. "At the same time, they're looking for the city views, nightlife and convenience of this neighborhood. Penthouses at One One One Morgan are designed for these buyers." All of the penthouses feature split floor plans, meaning bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the living room for more privacy. Open living areas measure up to 20'1" by 23'5". "At One One One Morgan, there are only 16 residences on the penthouse floor, which gives these homes an extra-wide living space. When you're working with 16, 17 or 20 feet of width, you really have a lot of options with floor planning and furnishings," said Ibrahim Shihahdeh, co-principal of Winthrop Properties. Other standard penthouse features include master suites with walk-in closets, and master baths with soaking tubs, separate showers and dual-bowl vanities. According to Shihadeh, penthouse buyers are also attracted to the rooftop decks and oversized balconies, which range in size from 90 to 600 square feet. The balconies on the east side of the building span the entire width of each penthouse residence. "Since One One One Morgan is new-construction, we didn't have to parcel out existing roof space or hang loft balconies to address outdoor living. We had a clean slate and designed outdoor space to complement the rest of the home," said Shihadeh. Only seven penthouse residences are still available at One One One Morgan. Among them are Units 912, 913 and 914. Base-priced from $399,000, the east-facing homes have two bedrooms, a den, two baths and 1,443 square feet. They include a master suite with a walk-in closet and a 40'2" x 5' deck off the main living area. Homes also feature a 13' x 9' den adjacent to the foyer. The dens in these penthouses are larger than most second bedrooms in other loft developments, which gives these homes greater versatility," said Horner. "For instance, the den can be used for a media room, library or home office, or a combination of these functions." Also
available is a 2,376-square foot duplex. Base-priced at $699,000, the
home includes three bedrooms, three baths and three private decks. Two
of the decks face west and one offers views to the west, south and east.
All homes feature classic loft elements such as 10' exposed concrete ceilings, exposed ductwork and columns, open layouts and partial-height walls. Standard features at One One One Morgan include hardwood flooring in the foyer, kitchen and living area; track lighting; 1½" Italian granite kitchen countertops; ventless gas fireplaces with a custom millwork surround; washer/dryer hookups; and central heat and air conditioning.
