Given enough money, many people can take a hundred acres in the suburbs and develop a new subdivision. However, it requires a unique combination of skills and patience to develop the relationships required to work in highly developed communities on small and difficult pieces of property.

Winthrop Properties, LLC is the direct result of the combination of the skills of its founders, Bob Horner and Ibrahim Shihadeh.

Bob Horner brings to the partnership long experience and deep understanding of the financial and marketing components of the residential real estate business. After receiving a BBA from Northwestern University and an MBA from New York University, Bob spent several years as a management consultant and financial manager before entering the real estate industry. Prior to the formation of Winthrop Properties, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Pulte Homes, the country's largest home builder, General Manager for Pulte's Illinois Division, CEO of Pulte's Mortgage subsidiary, as well as CEO of both Sears Mortgage and Citicorp Mortgage.

Ibrahim Shihadeh bring a wealth of experience in the rehabilitation and construction of a wide range of residential buildings with a special concern for the design and construction of kitchens and bathrooms. He also possesses excellent design and engineering skills. Ibrahim began his involvement with the real estate industry immediately after obtaining his degree in structural engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His first venture was to start-up a remodeling business which was to become one of the most successful remodelers on the North Shore. Utilizing the skills developed in the remodeling business he began to purchase and rehab apartments, beginning with two and three flats and progressing to buildings with an excess of 400 units.
